At work in the studio
Drew Carroll
Through his undergraduate studies at The Art Institute of Boston, Drew focused on creating a career in the arts and therefore pointed his portfolio towards illustration. After leaving school he never pursued that career, but continued to be creative by painting in his studio with oil on canvas and board. It was not until years later that he returned to school to reconnect with his passion for the arts. Printmaking has transformed his vision and inspired a return to the fine arts world.
Printmaking is a fine art that requires a dedication to process. Each image is the result of many stages of exploration. Like most creations it starts with an idea, but finish work will have evolved through many different rough stages of development. At each stage there is an opportunity to change directions, to employ new techniques and possibly add new layers.
